Janet Campbell c 1822-1824 - after 1888

She married James Smith of Canisbay in 1853 and I'm pretty sure she died after
Aug 1888 when James died and likely after 1891. I believe she was still in Canisbay for the 1891 census. James was the son of John Smith and Barbara Murray.

She was born in Halkirk and I am trying to determine if she was the daughter of William Campbell and Elizabeth Horn(e). This seems the likeliest of Janet's born around the above timeframe in Halkirk.

Anyone know when and where she died?

Hi Mamie 2 I went in to the 1881 census and the only James and Janet that match yours was in Canisbay

James Smith crofter m 62 b Canisbay
Jean Smith m 48 b Halkirk
if this is your couple she was not born till 1833.I could not find her death as yet but will keep trying.

I now know when she died Sep 18 1898 in Duncansbay and she is the daughter of William Campbell and Elizabeth Horne.

From her age at death she was born 1823 in Halkirk most probably in Sibster. She lived in Sibster at the time of her marriage to James Smith. Her age varies quite a bit in the various censuses lol.

James Smith is my 2nd great granduncle.
