Back in October last year I did a small video clip of the shipwreck Jean Stephens that went aground on Reiss beech in January 1958.

At the time I made the clip I said the rest of the ship had decayed and gone, however I was down the beech after 4-30 pm yesterday and the tide was out further that I had seen it before.

Because of the different winds and tides the sand around the Wreck has shifted revealing some of the remains of the front of the ship and even some of the wooden planks that lined the inside are still intact.

Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me, (sods law) but If I go down again I will take some photos.
I would think many local children of that period would have spent a lot of there play time around that wreck and if not able to see it now, may find it as interesting as I do.

If thats the case, the best time to view it is on Friday, at 18:39, with a 0.5M low water tide. Obviously go before it gets dark though!! Not a lot of difference in the tide heights before then really though.
I would say that it is the shifting sand that has revealed more than the low tides. I mind seeing the bow section revealed a few years ago, but it got covered up again.

If they keep on taking the sand from Reiss it'll not be long before it's in full view!

I was wondering if it's because they have left the back door open that the extra draught is blowing the sand away from the wreck.;)

That is very true, i have herd that when its a windy day/night the wind blows a long the beech side of the sand dunes and the sand drifts into the sand quarry so it wont be long and you will see the whole of the boat.

Thats just like I mind it Kevin, but theres less of her left now obviously.
Its amazing how the elements can reduce a ship.
