There's always a niggly problem after a Windows Update. Or so it seems with me anyway...
Following the recent Update, I note that 'Computer' and 'Control Panel' (when accessed via the Start menu) opens in half-screen size. How can I get them to open in Full Screen?
I use Vista.
Thanks in advance to anyone with a suggestion.

I'm not sure I understand the question properly but to maximise any window you either double click on it's title bar or click the middle button of three that are in the top right hand corner of the window.

But ... I think you know this, hence why I don't think I quite understand the question!

Allow me to be clearer then (and I'll try not to be patronising given how much you know your stuff...). Here's what you get by clicking on Start:

If I were then to click Computer or Control Panel the resulting window would not be 'full screen' size. And I'd rather it was without me having to maximise it myself. A minor irritation I know but I'm sure such windows were autmatically maximised until recently.

The windows should save their dimensions so that when you next open them they should be at the same size as they were when you last opened them - if you see what I mean. So you should only need to resize them the first time and then they will stay at that size each time you open them after that.

I assume from what you're saying they don't do that any more?

The easiest way to tell if it was the recent update is to either uninstall them or do a System Restore back to before they were installed (System Restore is probably the most thorough way to tell).

I think it's sorted! After maximising, I closed by double clicking the top left hand corner (usually I click the 'X' at the top right). Now they're coming back maximised. Excellent. Acid test will be when I log on again tomorrow. Thanks and goodnight!
