I posted on the org a while ago that my brother had a book published called 'Every Mother's Nightmare' about some murders that happened in our home town of Abertillery in the early 1920. THE HORROR OF 1921 - THE HAROLD JONES MURDERS (http://www.abertillery.net/oldabertillery/tales/haroldjones.html).

As a result of 16 years of research into this book Neil uncovered a series of events that led him to link his subject with many unsolved crimes of that period, one being the Muriel Drinkwater murder that has lately involved the oldest DNA sample ever used, (click here (http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/news/wales-news/2007/11/25/author-names-new-killer-in-drinkwater-case-91466-20159249/)) to help solve a crime.

His extensive research has now convinced him that Harold Jones was also involved in the unsolved Jack the Stripper Murders and is the subject of his next book that is due out later this year.

I've read the links Kevin and had n't seen your earlier thread. How interesting is it to have a novelist in the family? Any inclinations yourself?! Think Neil must have been a detective in a former life

When I posted the above post , it was at the request of my brother that is looking for some information and I just noticed that I did not attach his request//:confused Dur! sorry.lol
Neil's request is as follows.

I am seeking information about Mungo Ireland and possibly a photograph of him
A Scotland Yard review of the Hammersmith nudes' murders, which was conducted between November 2006 and May 2007, concluded that Mungo Ireland was most likely responsible for killing between 6 and 8 prostitutes in the Hammersmith district of London between 1959 and 1965.
Ireland was born at 48 Crescent Lane Dundee (I am also seeking a photo of this property for my book) on 17th April 1919. His parents were David and Annie Ireland. (Annie's maiden name was Johnstone)
All that is known for sure is that in March 1965 Mungo who was living at 132 Tildesley Road Putney west London committed suicide by inhaling exhaust fumes in his lock up garage at Solna Avenue Putney.
The police believe he killed himself because he knew he was about to be arrested for the nude's murders.
I found links between Ireland and Harold Jones, the Abertillery double child rapist and murderer who served 20 years for his crimes. Jones was 15 when he committed these crimes and I have also found links between Jones and nudes' victims 3, 7 and 8.
If anyone can help I can be contacted at n.milkin@sky.com (n.milkin@sky.com)

Thanking you in advance Neil Milkins

My geography might be terrible, but what does this actually have to do with Caithness - or is that not a real requirement of this forum?

Hi Michael Bradley.

The subject has nothing to do with Caithness apart from I live in Wick.

My brother is serching for some information for his next book that is centered on a Mungo Ireland that came from Dundee.

I know its a bit of a long shot but there are people on the org from many parts of the country and just by chance someone may have some information that could be usefull.

It does not state anywhere that this forum can only be used for caithness things, its a community forum and therefore all things within reason can be discussed, you may have been confused about that by some others posters saying that it "should be" Welcome to the org,may your stay here be a happy one and please feel free to talk about almost anything you would like to! x
