Someone asked me about a laptop (Packard Bell Easy Note, model MIT-RHEA-C made about 2003). Some coffee was spilt on to its keyboard and currently only two of the keys work. I realise that an external keyboard can be plugged in to a usb slot, but it would be better if the original laptop keyboard could be used. Is there a easy or cheap way of putting this right, rather than taking it to a repair shop?

I don't have access to the laptop (its hunderds of miles away) so, I would only be passing on any advice that I get.

Not really an easy way to fix this.

If you want to it for little cost, I would strip the laptop and take the keyboard off and clean what you can from it. I suspect this won't work, but your friend may be surprised and it may get them back most or all of the keys.

Your best bet is to find somebody who specialises in laptop repairs and take it to them. I have a supplier who does that and charges a small fee to look at it and give you a quote. I can pass on their details if you need them.
