Was checking out one of the orgs sponsers ie.swoopo and what a cunning bit of business for its owners. They must be raking in the cash from wannabe bargain hunters with the way the bidding goes.

Seems some people have got high value items for sweeties so to speak but I reckon the cost of those bid packs will soon mount up in search of that ellusive bargain.

Was tempted to sign up but then realised the lure of that muchess cheapness item is probally like chasing the jackpot on a fruit machine!!

Anyone had any joy on there or is the feeling the same as mine?

I seen it a month or so back and I agree, it was a damn good idea by whoever it was that started it up!

Personally, I know how addictive eBay is when the bidding is free! I couldn't trust my itchy trigger finger when I had to pay per bid! I think it'd be good if you had plenty time to just sit and watch it!

We had a look but like you we thought there was more chance of winning the lottery than winning an item with one bid, plus did you see the price they were charging for the bids!! extortionate!!

Swoopo is not new as it had been going for quite some time but under another name, I think, if I remember rightly, it was called TeleBid. I signed up to that about a year ago but when I saw just how much it cost I never actually Bid for anything.

Yes I am right as I just Googled Telebid and it came back that TeleBid is now Swoopo.

I will just leave it alone as is just too expensive.

Yeah i did the same about a year ago as well, when i first saw it i though 'awesome', but knew there had to be a catch, and the bid price is the catch, it's a really risky was to try and get an item.

I tried swoopo and was on it at prime time 7pm and bids were flying in. so i stayed up till 4 to see if the bids went down but they didnt and i was massively out of pocket.

Personally I think if you want to buy on a Online Auction site you are are far better off with the Likes of :-

http://www.uk.ebid.net
http://www.specialistauctions.com

This is only three of the many auction sites out there and at least you pay the price what you see and if you get out bid then you pay nothing, unlike swoopo
