I am wondering if anyone can give me any information on my gg-grandmother.
She was born in Wick sometime around 1798 and married John Nicol in Edinburgh in 1821. She married my gg-grandfather John McKechney, (born Islay c.1795). They had four children together before that (between 1838 and 1845) - it's great to discover some scandal in the family!! The marriage cert (1859) shows them both as widowed. They both died in 1869, within a couple of months of each other. Her death cert shows her name as Miller (as does 1841-1851-1861 censuses). She is also shown with another name of Farquhar on this cert and also on her husband's death cert (also known as). It is possible that she was born out of wedlock in Wick. The 1859 marriage cert shows her father as George Farquahar and her mother as Margaret Miller. All very confusing!! After George's name is shown Weaver (???), Caithness. I don't know if this was his profession or a place-name - it's difficult to read.

Would appreciate any help.
