Antivirus 2009

HELP!! When I turn my PC on a warning keeps coming up 'Windows Security Centre reports that Antivirus 2009 is inactive'. It keeps telling me to register and click Get License, when I click Get License a window opens with a 49.95 dollar charge for license. Can I do anything else or do I have to pay for this? I have AVG free and when I run this it tells me that everything is okay but I don't know if its checking the same stuff. I can sometimes get onto sites eg Caithness.Org, ebay but sometimes they are blocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What you have there is a virus DO NOT PAY FOR IT you need to do a scan with www.malwarebyte.org (http://www.malwarebyte.org/) this will get rid of it, also use http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,22262-page,1-c,antispywaretools/description.html

I tried to download the malwarebyte but only got so far and the virus wouldnt let me download anymore What a pain this is. Thanks for your input

I had this virus on another machine and managed to get it off.

If you need more help then do a search on yahoo or google and you will find other ways to stop the pop-ups so you can finish downloading it. (Example - Registry)

Here is what i did to remove it:

I had the virus a while back but what i did to get rid of it was to do a seach for it in the search system in windows and look for the following items:

antivirus
MSantivirus
MS2008
MS2009
MS09
MS08

Hopefully you can distinguish what files you need and what ones are the infection. Then once you have done that run the malwarebytes.org program that will remove the rest of the program that was installed by this malware.

Its all fixed now thanks to Lazytown. God knows what he did but its all gone now:lol::lol: Thanks again LAZY
