Missed this thread,
Some great images from you all, MPH, how long is that Christmas Tree going to stay on the beach, I think I first photographed it on December the 30th!
I am enjoying the superb photos in this thread, folks. :)
Daviddd, is that a Eucalyptus tree in the first photo?

Yes Sporran - that was taken in Western Australia last July, somewhere in the back of beyond between Port Hedland and Tom Price. I was wild camping for 2 days here; a real semi-desert landscape.
here's one of the famous Boabs - not a great example this, but they look so strange, kind of upside-down.

here's another Boab:

Amazing tree there wifie... doesn`t look like a local.
Nice tree pics eveybody. :)
Was taken at a place called Cambo in Fife - famous for it's snowdrops tjc. The brown shiny bits of bark were so smooth - did not see a name near it tho.
Nirofo

Daviddd, your tree photos are brilliant.especially the upside down Boab's.
some of the Boab's were used as prison trees they were so fat - the middle is often hollow due to termites etc. and I saw some with quite a large 'room'. Unfortunately some *wonderful* humans have to deface the bark with carvings grrrrr!

How do these trees withstand the gales with no shelter? What noble, tenuous, solid and silent beasts they are - wonderful!
this one has passed on to the great forest in the sky, but still retains beauty...

I have just realised I posted with no info about the trees, They are of course here in Spain, up near Aracena in pig country where the best pork/jamon comes from as the pigs are fed mostly on scorns. The trees are oak acorns.
