Venus and the Moon will be side by side at sunset tonight (31st Dec) for anyone that wants to have a go photographing them.

Excellent Astroman,i was up the moors on Monday at sunset to see just that sight.
Also tonight there is a conjunction of Jupiter and Mercury,not an easy one to see
as both planets will be in the orange glow of sunset.I was looking for Mercury on Monday but failed to see it.

Thanks MPH, here's hoping for a clear sky at sunset tonight. One of my other photos from Monday evening managed to capture Mercury, but it was far from obvious being very close to the horizon.
