MPH,

The frost on the plastic bottles is wonderful.

To take a couple of plastic bottles, some twigs and stones and make it look so pleasing is just not right. You really are all great -- I never tire of looking at all the wonderful, creative threads in this section. Caithness must have some of the best photographers around.

My wife took these photos when we were travelling back from Inverness yesterday morning. It was -6. To see everything covered in frost was purely spectacular. Haven't seen anything like it in my life before.

Also on the way back from Inverness yesterday. -11C, iced power-lines. No wonder they break under the strain. Surely it's not beyond the wit of man to either put heating cables through them, or better still for us photographers and electricity users, bury the things below ground where they won't be affected by the weather and less danger to the poor workers who are sent out to repair them in howling gales or freezing conditions.

As a photographer you notice that everywhere you turn up here there is a power cable in view - which is strange for an area 'selling' magnificent views to visitors and tourists.:confused

How many workers have been killed or seriously injured undertaking repairs to power-lines in the Highlands during bad weather? Anybody know?
