While on a recent holiday I had my field scope set up on the balcony of the apartment to watch ships etc.

On our second night we had a full moon and was the biggest moon I had ever seen with the naked eye.

I zoomed in with the field scope and just as an experiement I pointed my bog standard camera down the lens and got this picture.:eek:

You've just confirmed all my suspicions, the moon really is made of green cheese!
Great idea and until you try experimenting you will never know what the result of a chance shot will be.

I don't know if your scope and camera are compatible but it is possible to get an adapter ring to connect the two together. I've used a 600mm scope with my camera but it does distort slightly around the edges.

Don't forget that 'BoG standard' actually refers to the very best that you can get i.e. British or German. :cool:
