A widefield view of Orion with some trees to add a bit of contrast.
Taken with camera tripod....20sec F5,ISO200 @ 38mm.
Normally i would use ISO 800 but i wanted to capture the trees
and didn't want them to be ORANGE!!!!!!!!!! they are still quite orange but
it'll do me.
I'm off out now to set the scope up and hopefully get some decent astropics.

This is the famous M42,The Orion Nebula and to the top left is The Running Man Nebula.
There is about 30mins exposure time in total.a mix of 60,90,and 120 second exposures at ISO800 with the camera at prime focus where the telescope becomes the camera lens.
Stacked using Deep Sky Stacker and tweaked with PS to try and get rid of the terrible light pollution. The sky should really be darker but if i darken it the running man nebula vanishes.
Will have to get a LP filter for the camera but that means removing the existing camera filter and i dont know what effect that has on daylight photography.

Cheers folks,Sodium lights are a real pain when you are trying to capture something low in the sky.
I've added 10minutes worth of dark frames which has helped darken the backgroung sky and a couple of flat frames has helped brighten the colours up a bit but the running man has nearly become the invisible man.

Taking the image is really the easy part, its getting the processing right that
is the real time consumer.Sharp images with a lot of detail or smooth with maybe less detail,
vivid colours or more subtle?? The variations are endless because your imaging something which you cant see or can hardly see with the naked eye so its your interpretation of the data you've gathered.
