I have just been told that no-one ever said "Beam me up, Scottie" on Star Trek. The explanation was that Scottie ran the engines not the transporter. Am I going senile because I am pretty sure I heard it ever episode.
Is this another "Play it again, Sam" things?

I remember Kirk saying "beam us aboard Mr Scott" but unsure if they actaullay said "beam me up scottie". Its the same with Rambo,the catchphrase was "Dont push me" but he never actually said it!
I am more a Borger than a Trekkie though! ;)

Cannot say I am a Trekkie That is why I don't know But "Beam us aboard", sounds feasible.
The strange thing was, and this is entirely coincidental, I was with someone who is the nearest thing you could get to a cross between a Vulcan and an Earthling.

Another common one is "Lead on MacDuff".

Should be:

"Lay on, MacDuff"

or

"Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well"

should be:

"Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him Horatio.."
