Robert SUTHERLAND m Elizabeth MCIVOR (b. Abt 1823, d. 18 August 1871, Ramscraigs, Dunbeath) on May 28, 1847

Elizabeth MCIVOR's parents were James MCIVOR and Helen BUDGE

Children: James SUTHERLAND, Donald SUTHERLAND (b. Abt 1849), Helen SUTHERLAND (b. 4 Oct 1856), Robert SUTHERLAND (b. 1 Oct 1859), Unknown SUTHERLAND (male) (b 28 Sep 1865, d 4 Oct 1865)



Robert SUTHERLAND remarried Janet GUNN on 17 April 1874, Latheron.

Janet GUNN's first marriage was to a William HENDERSON on 4 January 1856 in Ramscraigs, Dunbeath.

They had 5 girls:

Catherine HENDERSON (b.Jan 1857), Henrietta HENDERSON (b. 22 Sep 1858), Mary HENDERSON (b. 4 Oct. 1860), Johan HENDERSON (b. 16 Feb. 1866)

Janet GUNN's parents were John GUNN and Henrietta SUTHERLAND

Robert SUTHERLAND and Janet GUNN's children were:-

Children: Twins: Jessie Anne SUTHERLAND (b 4th June 1875) and Margaret Helen SUTHERLAND (b. 4th June 1875).

Margaret Helen SUTHERLAND m William CARTER (my Great Grandparents)

Traced my father Donald sutherland tree back as far as GGGGrandad John Sutherland who married Margaret Gunn. Have now got Johns death certificate and know his father was Benjamin Sutherland who married Margaret Mcgrigor

Hi - I have been researching my husband's family for a short period. He was born in Greenock - grandmother Jane Gunn Docker (nee MacKellar) 1906-1990. Her parents were Archibald MacKellar & Jane Gunn Davidson McKenzie b. 1871 Watten. Jane's parents were James McKenzie b. 1841 Latheron m at Bower 1862 to Euphemia Mowat.
James' parents were George McKenzie b. 1775 Latheron & Helen McIvor - going back to aAlexander McKenzie m Elizabeth Sutherland at Watten 1766.
Euphemia's parents were Alexander Mowat b. 1804 Lyth & Isabella McAdam b. 1808 Watten. Isabella's mother was Jean Gunn b.1782 - leading back to John Gunn b.1698.
I think we must connect somewhere!!

does anyone have in their research a
Catherine Sutherland - she married before 1778 to a Robert Campbell.
Their son William CAMPBELL b1781 m Barbara GUNN b 1788 daughter of
Alexander Gunn and Helen Donaldson who married abt 1780.
