was up at blingery a walk and saw this tiny bird it was the size about of a Robins head what would it be? not a birdie person but it was really tiny

sorry lizz its not the smallest lol the firecrest and goldcrest are our smallest birds wrens are always quoted as our smallest because it is seen far more often. :lol:

I stand corrected, thanks count, although my book still says it's the smallest! I just knew I neede a new bird identification manual!

you're wcome lizz. i always thought the wren was the smallest until i got the observers book lol those little books had a lot of answers :lol:

Wrens are lovely wee birds but they are quite vicious at nesting time. One of my nestboxes had a bluebird's nest with three eggs in it. A wren decided to take it over and removed the eggs and evicted the bluebirds. They will kill the bluebirds, if they don't comply.
