Can stiill see it but ir's dark and they are 2 hours later than us although round the pond is light. Surely it's not floodlit? Or is the camera? Please explain.
Oops - now mine's gone dark. Maybe there's a power failure.

There is animals at it just now.
lol you've seen more than the rest of us i seen nothing.
im sure it is floodlit aswell going by the pics people have left on the site,
From some of the photos I suspect that it has infra-red lighting at night.
I would think that most of the animals which would use it at night would come nowhere near floodlights.
lol you've seen more than the rest of us i seen nothing.
when i first went on there was nothing then when it updated 30 sec later there was 2 big birds.

False alarm this time.....

Im sure ive just seen nessie !!
Now i know how to see animals at the waterhole i can't believe i missed that, ellie the elephant was there.:Razz
I am sure there is something there, but can't make out what it is!!!!!!!
There's something moving about in the water - looked quite big a minute ago. Started off as ripples, then big dark shape came out. Small shapes by the edge now. Wonder what it is?
I told you ..its nessie !
Have seen several birds and animals including what I think were Maribu storks, gnu, rhino and some kind of antelope. Best time to look is round about dusk and just after dawn their time.
Got a screen grab just in time. ;)
So that's what my Tabby gets up to at night!
http://www.hookeslaw.com/nessie.jpg
So that's where he gets to when the cameras are out!
How do you get the picture to come up.
Told you , ner ner ner ner ner , i knew i saw nessie !
there is life there but all I ever see are these!!
Got a screen grab just in time.
I wonder why its not drinking.
Nothing to celebrate?
Doesn't like drinking alone?
Posing for the camera?
I wonder why its not drinking.
Maybe it's pining for the fjords.
There's a marabou stork been there for the last five mins or so.
There is something there now, on the green patch to the upper right but it's just too far away to make out what it is.
not sure what it is though
its a warthog just got a close up pic!
The stork is back - at least I think that's what it is. Just standing looking at him/herself in the water. Very vain.
Now it's right in the water - paddling or fishing?

Bit puzzled when I looked just now though ... in the water - a bright splodge! Wonder if something is stuck on the lens of the camera?
Couple of geese there at the minute.
Heres another link that might interest you, did you know there was that many earthquakes everyday?

I've got this in my "favourites" too. Haven't seen anything yet :( but thanks to those of you who post alerts & pics. I swear I'm going to fall off the chair with shock if I ever do manage to spot something for myself. I even put the link in a window when I log on, so I can sneak up on the camera - lol - sad but true.
:( No picture - message saying that the webcam is down but under repair.
Hope it is fixed soon :)
Maybe one of the animals tried to wreck the web cam because they did'nt like being watched lol.

Buffallo bathing just now been there for ages
I thought thats what it was but i was'nt sure.
Missed all the fun with the camera but it's nice to have it back in place. Is that buffalo stuck? Or maybe someone's stolen his towel.
... and the buffalo is still there. Must be enjoying himself. :D
he is certainly taking his time in there must be a very clean buffalo
I'm getting a bit worried about him - do you think someone should extend a hand (preferably holding a warm towel, or his trousers if that's what he's waiting for [smirk] )
I think the buffalo's name may be Narcissus
I thought you were all kidding - but he's still there - heading straight for the camera at the moment. Maybe he's waiting till it gets dark before he emerges.
this is the busiest I have seen the watering hole so far
very busy this morning again.......impala, zebra, birds all different shapes and sizes....

Look at the time and date in the right hand bottom corner, it should be about 2 hours in front of us, that gives an indication of when the last shot was taken
They got the web cam fixed then nice pics unicorn

Nice one unicorn!

I wonder has it rained there because the water level has gone up.
The water hole is natural but when it gets very low it is topped up from a nearby bore hole.
Ah right.....thanks for that Geo.....I should've read the small print!
There is something there just now what is it is it another bird
yup another stork type thing
grr thought it was i am begining to think they only come out when i look at the web cam
His/her date has turned up.
http://www.hookeslaw.com/photographs/waterhole/storks.jpg
Well, well, well I sure missed the vacationing monster now that would have been a sight for sore eyes!
Have seen this week several zebra, a buffalo having a wallow, some more gnus and again the antelope that I can't identify also there appeared to be a small flock of some dove like bird.
Now why can't these critturs stop being so shy and come out when the sun is shining so we can get a proper look..MOST inconsiderate.
His/her date has turned up.
http://www.hookeslaw.com/photographs/waterhole/storks.jpg
If i was left waiting that long i would not be happy lol
A cat?????? brave kitty
On the webcam website forums there has been a running discussion about the cat. Some say it is an African Wildcat, which it's said our domestic cats were originally bred from.
There are a couple of pics at the link below. They do look very similar to the domestic cat although a bit bigger. Perhaps not unlike the Scottish Wildcat
http://www.krugerpark.co.za/africa_african_wild_cat.html
There was something there just now think its a zebra
Has anyone else noticed how fast it gets dark on the webcam??
You notice a slight dipping of the light then within 4 or 5 minutes its night!
I had noticed that too the light goes so fast its unreal.
This is a really good thread. It has so many pages! I was wanting to ask if anyone has swam with dolphins, or even seen one riding alongside a boat? I love dolphins, and it is one of my dreams to see something like that one day. Does anyone know the nearest place where you can see them???

I seen dolphins of some sort in Scrabster Harbour a few years ago. It was brilliant. They looked so happy! I seen a dolphin show last year and it was very impressive they really are smart cookies!
Thanks Savey for your reply. Lucky you!! Will they be at Scrabster Harbour again do you think??? I'd love to see them, and I totally agree, they are very clever!

It's from the same people. It's their latest one but you have to be a member of their forums to access it. Membership is free:

if you click here http://www.sanparks.org/parks/kruger/webcams/ then register to become a free forum member you can view the new satara webcam it only came live on the 17th so it still has a few problems like sometimes not showing full pic but it is getting better.
