So in spite of saying that road signs would be replaced when missing or illegible, they have started replacing them because they don't have a Visit Scotland symbol - see http://www.johnogroat-journal.co.uk/news/fullstory.php/aid/5300/Dunnet_designs_reveal_Gaelic_signs_are_on_the_way. html.
Does anyone care? Can the old ones be recycled? If not, that's just more landfill when we're being urged to reduce rubbish.
What this article fails to mention is that street names are also to be replaced with Gaelic translations (I have seen this confimed in a letter from the Council). Are they going to wait for these to be illegible or will they be rolled out everywhere?
Think it's time for Sandy Park and Hamish Fraser to be told to revise their priorities. This is our money they're wasting [disgust].
