My China Clown

I once was given a china clown as a gift.

You stare down at me my sad little friend,
Your nothing but a sculptured clown,
With your china face so fine,
Your amber locks, your coat of multi coloured polka dots.
Yet still you look sad my trusting friend,
Why? With the happiness you doth bring
When your base is turned you do chime,
Sweet melodies of a gentle kind.
Are you the Prisoner of your creator?
The artist who designed your line,
Then my friend with my paints I will change you,
And you can smile until the end of time.
