I was delighted to see in my garden in Berriedale today a male Peregrine Falcon. What a beautiful bird , he sat on a stone wall for 1-2 minutes in time for me to get my binoculars focused on him. I was just annoyed I didn`t have my camera with me.:Razz

you should consider yourself very lucky to get such a "fixed" view of such a beautiful bird, everytime i see them they are either too far away to photograph or moving to fasy lol  better luck in finding the camera next time :D

technically speaking only the female can be called a peregrine the male should be called a tiercel.

Many years ago I was playing with my video camaera in the garden and looked up and saw what I thought what I thought was a Kestral or Sparrow Hawk.
I began to realise it was too big to be either as it was a bigger bird and it was quite high up.
A pigion flew past and it soon became obvious that it was a Peregrine.
With my excitment and lack of video skill I only got a wonky bit of footage but what fantastic hunting skills these birds have.
