Alexander Farquhar

I wonder if anyone has a clue who the parents were of Alexander Farquhar, "Of Janetstown", who was born 1740 and who married Margaret Mowat? I believe he was the father of Donald (m. Esther Sutherland), Janet and Ann (and perhaps others that I don't know anything of). I would appreciate any assistance anyone could lend.
