where do all the Scots people living in Caithness think they originate from?Surely the north East of Scotland was closer to Norse than Scot.My own surname originates from norse but I'm not a Scot.In these islands we've had so many races.celts,picts,scots,vikings,jutes,angles,roman s,hibernians,normans and a few I haven't mentioned I expect.So what are we?

I am a Pict. Mostly anyway. My grandmother was Irish, so I'm only 75% pure.

Born an bred Caithnessian, have traced my Family tree back to 1750 with the help of my cousins, so I dont know what that makes me, a Scot, a Viking, a Pict, but definatly a HIBERNIAN :lol:
