Hello,
Once again I am on the trail of those elusive Simpson's that scattered across the Caithness/Orkney regions.
I pulled a death certificate for a Margaret Simpson who was the daughter of Donald Alexander (mason) + Margaret Bain. She died in 1918 on the 8th of June in Keiss Village, Keiss. She is the Widow of John Simpson (Fisherman-now there's a surprise! ;-) Her son in law Alexander Budge signed the death cerificate.
I checked the IGI and could find no Margaret Alexander + John Simpson marriage, nor could I find an Alexander Budge being married to a Simpson.
My thoughts are that John Simpson most likely did not originate from Keiss but most likely from Canisbay as I have found others from that area in Keiss. I checked but could find no death notice of John in Keiss with the GRO.
I need help to try and connect these people with there family-does anyone have any cemetary listings for Keiss, or any info that they may have come across on this family?
Thanks for your help,
As Always grateful
Jackie
