SEAGULLS
has anyone noticed the amount of gulls that are nesting on chimneys this year. the young are falling off and being killed in the streets
the older ones are very proctetive and will attack en mass
but all to no avail tony

yeah tony i posted when the gulls hatched, last month i think, and there are always casualties every year, with predation from the greater black back's and skua's. There are always the odd few that fall but the majority seem to fledge to attempt their first winter.:D

I happened to be having a sandwich on foot last week by the river near the salvation army hall. I turned round and had about 5 scorries young and old following me on the pavement. Then another half a dozen came in front of me obviously smelling the sandwich. I ended up throwing it away to get rid of them. I felt like an extra in the Birds film. Quite scary. Couldn't believe how bold they have become.

someone started feeding them outside wotherspoons and now the same one sits on the tables outside or in the window daily [lol]
