All the problems with MP's second home expenses could be solved in a very simple manner. All that is required is put 4-berth caravans in the Westminster car park and millions could be saved. It is also a much greener solution because they could walk to "work" each day. Let's start a petition and send it to the House.

Would there be any reason for a four berth caravan being standard issue rather than a two berth which would be more economical and take up less space?!!

Of course, we should alsdo apply the same princile to all those Dounreay and Valcan workers when on courses at other establisments, in Derby, Portsmouth etc. Indeed we should maybe re-open the old Dounreay camp and have all workers settled out there only to return home for weekends or rest days. think of the fuel t would save how much quieter the Thurso Melvich road would be.

Finally caravans in the Tesco and Co-op carparks for workers again keeping them there for their allotted number of shift days.

And finally, finally, where does it all end - we could all just live in caravans and think of the huge saving in heating and lighting costs as against a large, or even small, house.

I would have thought at least Margaret Beckitt would be delighted with that proposal.
I understand that she is a keen user of the caravan.

Cattach - As there are 650 MP's they would have to share just for the practical reason of limited space.

Maybe Brian Haw could keep them company.
