Does anybody know what this is growing out of a log at Reiss beech ?
While I was taking this photo a family of Stoats came out of a hole ,and by the time I turned to take a photo they had gone.:mad:

Definitely a form of bracket fungus; some of them are edible, so it can be worth identifying it (none of them are poisonous as far as I know).
