View Full Version : Buses From Inverness to Wick
Hey folks, is it still Rapsons that do the buses from Inverness to Wick? I am planning a trip up, can't be bothered driving,(means I won't get a dram on Sunday ;)) But I'd rather drive the 5 hours than take a train to Wick.....Can't afford the plane at the mo. Ta

Cheers, now the decision, 1.5 hours wait in Inverness, or run like the clappers and hope you make it from the railway to the bus in 6 mins:lol:

I would wait every time... passengers in your way, the train being late, the bus leaving early...
It's a no brainer for me!!

Just done this journey so know lol its £6 if you get in first (there is only one £6 ticket per bus) and you will only get that rate on the internet but its a lot better than spending out £16 each way or £30 for a return. That £6 price is one way so book ahead lol. Hope you have a good trip

It is still Rapsons who run the buses but the Rapsons firm has been taken over by Stagecoach, the Rapsons brand will still remain though.

Rapsons firm was taken over and now they are called Stagecoach in Caithness.
The Rapsons branding is being phased out over the next year.
They have recieved new buses the past couple of weeks and they are all stagecoach branding.
Stagecoach bosses have been up lately and they are the ones which are running the show and not Rapsons.

So hopefully there will be a decent bus service up here.
Travelled on one of the new buses today; it kneels so that there is not the enormous first step to get on board!
I travelled by train Aberdeen to wick £15 return , till the end of june. A great offer.

I love travelling by train, but I just cannot face the journey from Inverness to Wick. Once you reach Helmsdale and you still have hours to go, when if you were in the car you know you could be home in under an hour, cracks me up. Anyway all booked up now coming home to see the floats, lets hope it is still on[disgust]
