I visited the Blautopf at Blaubeuren today.

Really interesting Dellwak - thanks for that!
Wow, Dellwak, your photos are wunderbar! My avatar must have taken a swim there, by the looks of it! ;)
The Blautopf is a beautiful, magical looking place. I also enjoyed reading the Wikipedia article about it. Thanks so much for sharing with us, Dellwak! :)

Excellent photographs, there's a pool very like this in Dorset, I have some photographs somewhere, slide or colour negative.
Here's some links for more information and some photographs.

Blaubeuren looks so quaint, dellwak. I really love the fachwerk buildings in Germany - they have so much character and charm. :)
I have often thought of buying a small fachwerk house Sporran.
You can pick them up for a song. Unfortunately, it costs a bomb to renovate them and bring the insulation up to a modern standard. Sadly, some people find it cheaper to knock them down and put up a modern breeze block and steel shoe box in its place.
Let's hope that not too many get knocked down. I would hate to see them disappear altogether! :(
Looks like an illustration from a ladybird book on fairy tales.:D
