View Full Version : Gardening or Cooking?
On the early radio Gardening programme today, I heard you can eat the flowers of the Day Lily ? Is this true? I have lots of them. Would you cook them like the flowers of the Elderberry bush ? It will be a week or two before they are in full bloom.
Thank you
Trinkie

The deer find mine to be very edible -- it is their flower of choice.
This from Garden Web:
All daylilies are edible. But check for the botanical name, Hemerocallis fulva, or any of its cultivars.
This is the website and it has some Day Lily recipes:

Thank you both for your kind replies.
I will try in a week or so, when they are in bloom..... if they are good I will put my recipe on Cooking Thread. If they are not good..........I may be gone for some time !!
