first flags i've seen this year

Went for a lovely walk up the river (see my post on the closure on general) to see what could be seen. All the flags at the platform are still in bud but at the very end of my walk at the lookout point at the end of the pathway I noticed some where open so took a few shots.

Always wondered what they were called, i must have over 1000 just over my garden fence growing and they look stunning when all in bloom. Thank you for a couple of nice shots :)
