Did anyone see Porpoises around the east Caithness coast today?
My friends were heading to Golspie this morning and phoned me around 11am to say they had stopped at Helmsdale because they saw quite a lot of cars had stopped and they wanted to know what was going on.
They said they saw well over 100 porpoises possibly many many more. They said they could see them close to the shore and all the way out as far as they could see. They also said they have never seen anything like it before.

I went out to the Trinkie in Wick during the afternoon but didn't see anything although there were hundreds of birds diving in two areas just off Wick bay.

Then tonight I was stopped by a couple who had just come back from Longberry and they had seen quite a number of Porpoises just off Longberry.

Just wondering if anyone else had seen them today?

The Trinkie is a good place to see whales and dolphins.
