R4 CARDS for DS?

Hi can anyone help me understand these R4 cards? My daughters friend got one and seemingly has loads of DS games on it. Where can I get one, how much? How do I get these games etc on to it?
What's the point in spending a fortune on all these games if you can buy one and put loads of games on to it?

I just got my wee lass a DSTT card! I got it from america from http://dealxtreme.com I got the card and a 2gig MicroSD card for about £20 delivered! It's a fantastic bit of kit! I have about 50 games on hers!
