Build your own website?

Can anyone tell me what these build your own websites are like? Or can you recommend one to use, I only want a very simple website for hubbies business, just want to show a few pics, contact details, nothing too technical.

It all depends on which ones you are talking about.

Some of them are pretty good and some of them are awful.

As somebody who works with client websites my advice is:



to stay away from the ones that insist you put ads on your site - this makes it look very unprofessional and you may as well not have bothered,
use your own domain name - again if you don't it makes it look unprofessional,
don't add your email address directly to any pages or expect a ton of spam
keep it simple
If you are looking at targeting customers through search engines (not just being listed) you will need help

I haven't used any of those tools, but know some customers who have. I therefore can't recommend any of them. Microsoft keeps hawking Office Live to me to distribute to my customers and they have some very good features - haven't used it but it's at www.officelive.com
