what does a black helcoppter repesent ??
It had markings mr cannop, and looked like a private helicopter, to small to be a search and rescue. probably some one out for a jolly.

Don't know what he was doing - but if they were taking photos they got some crackers of us all standing like loonies in our driveway waving at them!!

Could be right about the taking photos....looks to be fitted with a gyro-stabilised camera below the nose.
I think that search and rescue helicopters are brightly coloured, not black.
Sometimes the hydro uses choppers for power line inspections

They might have been looking for the road that was in the flood film.
It flew over Ackergill and around Sinclair Bay, I thought it was checking up on oil slick as it was very low.
Great photos grumpyhippo. :)
The helicopter hovered over the A99 at various points between Wick Town Centre and Lochshell. I doubt there was anything sinister involved. I am perhaps slightly blase, having lived most of my life on the flight-path to Wick Airport.
It was an oil contamination clean up survey helicopter from Carnoustie.
