went up to newtonhill community woodland today anybody know what the contamination is/was and how long this lovely area is going to remain shut or is there some sort of conservation thing going on?

thanx for that evelyn i was up there today and was quite suprised to see it closed, its such a lovely area:D
It was well used by dogwalkers, bird watchers, runners and families enjoying a walk. Its sad to see it closed.
It must be gutting for the countryside rangers who put so much work into it initially and then only recently were involved in upgrading the paths.

I've walked my dog frequently at Newton over the years, though not these past few months. The recent findings and closure are worrying. I did a search on the forums here and came up with this :-

I remember reading that moira but i didn't link it in my mind to the community woodlands lol. I really shall have to take more notice :D
