I am going round in circles with the Bains as there are so many with the same forename , so would very much appreciate any Help anyone can give me

:roll: According to my family records Margaret Bain born 8th February 1837 was the daughter of my 3 x Gt Grandad and Granny John Bain and Janet Keith. George and Margaret's children were: John, Barbara, Isabella and George. Judith.

I too am looking for a Bain. I would love some information on Helen Bain who was born in Latherton about 1793. She married an Alexander McKenzie and died 28/04/1865. She lived in Ditches Forses. She had a son Robert in 1835. Her parents were Donald Bain and Jean Sutherland

Sorry I can't help with either, the Joseph Bain in my tree was born 1823 he was the son of John Bain Born abt 1772 and Isabella Waiter (aka Davidson) born about 1781(my 4 x Gt Grandparents) he married Anne Manson. Hope someone out there can assist you both.

I havent been on for a while so have only seen your message and yes I do have your Joseph Bain on my tree his brother George Bain b c 1820 is my husbands gg Grandfather.
I have George as having 12 Siblings , I cant get any further back than John Bain & Isabella Waiter, any info would be very much appreciated

:lol: John Bain and Isabella Waiter(Davidson) children were: Katharen born 1799, Elizabeth born 1801 married William Sutherland she died 27th Sept 1876 stricture of the oesophagus, Barbara born 1804 married Hugh Sutherland bro of William they were married 18th March 1836 she died 1855, Peter born 1807 married Isabella McAdie Peter died 29th June 1878 in St Cuthberts Edinburgh. William born 1809, Alexander (the inventor) and his twin sister Margaret were born 1810, John born 1812 married Janet Keith (they were my 3 x Gt Grandparents) he died 23rd Jan 1899, George born 1814 married Margaret Keith 28th Oct 1842 their children were: George who died 5th July 1855 aged 17yrs. John christened 14th July 1844 died 7th Sept 1866 aged 22yrs. Barbara born 15h Sept 1846 married Donald Bain born 1843 his parents were Alexander and Christina Bain. Isabella born 1851 married James Bruce she died 13th May 1918. Bessey born 1816 christened 9th April 1816, Isabella born 1818 died 15th March 1886 she married Sinclair Shearer born 2nd June 1814. they were married 25th Feb 1841. David born 1820, Joseph born 1823 christened 24th March 1823 married Anne Manson on 22nd Oct 1848.From your latest posting it would appear yours is a different George Bain and Joseph Bain, to my tree. John and Isabella are my 4 x Gt Grandparents. Other sources have only come up with 4 children to George and Margaret. Hope this helps. Annie.

My mistake I was meaning George Bain son of George Bain & Isabella Waiter.
The children I have for George Bain & Margaret Keith are Margaret Bain b 1854 d 1890 Glasgow, Barbara b 1846, George b 1848 d 1856, John b 1844 d 1866, Isabella b 1851.
So I think I am on the right track , Barbara & Isabella are the two I am not sure about.

The bit that maybe i am also confusing you with is George Bain & Margaet Keiths daughter Margaret married a Joseph Bain from Wick who are my husbands G grandparents

:confused Now I am totally confused, as I have just done another check on Family search and LDS and it has come up with John b 1844, Barbara b 1846, George b 18th Aug 1849 and William b 21 Jan 1851 according to Free cen for caithness in 1851 there was John 6yrs Barbara 4yrs George 2yrs and Isabella 10days. 1861 shows Margaret 16yrs and George 14yrs, 1871 Isabella 20yrs and William 13yrs in Janetstown along with their parents. (HELP!!!!!!) Can you PM me with the information you have, it would be most appreciated. Thanks. Annie.
