Hummmm wonder which one is Bill and which one is Coo?
I was grooming rabbits last week and the sparrows were all round my feet by my bench desperately scrabbling to get the biggest pieces of belly fur. It's amazing how brave they are when they are looking for fur for their nests.
Lizz, that first pic reminded me of that feeling when you're half awake/half asleep, with your hair stuck firmly to your face thanks to nocturnal drooling habits... or maybe that's just me...
The dove pics are lovely. I have a pair who regularly decend on the garden to nibble on the seed that the wee sparrows and such like manage to scatter on the ground. Beautiful, elegant birds I think!

I always think finding the remains of a hatched rook egg walking under the rookery as a sure sign of spring ..... and you just know its more than a bundle of sticks up in that tree

I have always used a beach hedge as a rule of thumb when as to put bedding plants and hanging baskets out. They seem to know just how long to hang on before coming fully into leaf.

What a beautiful robin -- the American robin looks quite different. Replace the brown feathers with blue and the British robin looks very similar to my favourite bird, the Eastern bluebird.

I've done the head bobs, flicked the tail until the feathers came loose and NOW you turn your back on me!
There must be a few feather brains like me up north, so come on lets see what the native birds are up to with their courtship rituals.
I caught the Pileated Woodpecker with a very long lens, (they're wary s) on a utility pole in Clearwater, British Columbia last week on a dull and rainy day. The handsome pair of Quail visited my campsite in the early morning hours, near Osoyoos, British Columbia a few days later.

She's had me traipsing all day after new nesting materials, my feet are KILLINGG me!
Is anyone else getting echoes of Johnny Morris here?
This is getting a habit for me now LIZZ. I can't resist having a look for any of your photos last thing at night. They are so good. Keep them coming. I love the one with the dove.

Now I know that gulls will nest almost any where but was tickled to see this pair have built on the local sport's centre grass roof. Sorry the picture is poor quality but was having to take it from some distance away.
Glad I had a wee peek in here some lovely pics :Razz
