Back in the olden days when Manson Grant was in a Showband called the Dynamos ..............
Practically every after gig party had crisps and dip. The dip was similar in as much as the basic ingredients were Philly cheese and tomato ketchup with other bits added by the hostess to make it their own.
My particular favourite also had salad cream, lee and perrins sauce and a touch of vinegar from the pickled onion jar.
A girl from Wick cheated a little and used philly and seafood sauce mixed together.
Crisps then were salt and shake, ready salted, salt and vinegar and cheese and onion had just been invented. I don`t think ready made dips were in the shops then.
Any other variations folks?.......Memories of a bygone era.
