I don't know if anyone can help me with this as I am running out of ideas!
My Great Grandmother was Mary Robertson born 1885 at Cowgate Cottage, Thurso. She is listed as illegitimate on her birth certificate with her mother as Maggie Robertson. Mary went on to marry George Durrand and she has no father on her marriage certificate either. However on her death certificate she has a father named as 'Murdo Robertson'. Murdo Robertson was the son of David and Mary Robertson of Cowgate Cottage, Thurso.
David and Mary did have a daughter called Margaret Robertson.
I am trying to find out who Maggie Robertson was and who the father of Mary Robertson was.
I do know that Maggie had another two illegitimate children - James (1888) and David (1883).
Can anyone help!
