Seems the less said about this the better.

Interesting bit of trivia. I have been to Ireland quite a few times and I have also had many a battle with Mr Mole, but had no idea that they did not inhabit Ireland.

A cousin of mine came over from Ireland to visit me a couple of years ago and spent a good hour alternately running around the park like a mad thing shouting "Woohoo! Real mole hills!" and lying down on the ground peering into the mole hills trying to catch a glimpse of a real live mole.
Once I'd explained to passers by that he was out on a day release from the funny farm, they seemed to understand.
I then happened to mention that they're pests and people either set traps for them or use various methods of scaring them away. Didn't go down too well.

I loved this bit from the article
"For example, we only have one field mouse here - which was probably brought in with early man."
One field mouse, aye right! One species of field mouse more like :)

Be even more Irish if someone bought one.
Maybe they should set up a parimeter of them around the entire coast, just to be sure. ;)
Apparently there are lots of unemployed snake-charmers in Ireland.
The article reminded me of Tescos selling DAB radios in its Wick store. Hmm.
Anyway, some idiot will now traipse off to Ireland with a pocketful of moles.
