NO!!!!!!!
none are in Scotland.......;)
many of these areas are ex forces stations - often build miles away from amenities.
How carbon neutral will the sites themselves be - after they have managed to clear up the many years of industrial use as service bases for aircraft, tanks, various heavy machinery and ammunition.

dident they do this years ago ...called newtown's ie ...cumbernauld ...milton-keynes...ect...instead of concrete houses....they are having wooden ones
Many of these "eco-towns" are just attempts by developers to push through developments which have been turned down - they stick the green tag onto the same development, add a few more affordable boxes into the mix, claim they will be carbon neutral and everyone thinks it will be OK.
The road infrastructure around the several they are proposing down here is already at breaking point. Adding 100,000's more people and 1000's more cars will will tip it over the edge.
At least one of the councils has already refused planning permission on the proposed site.
