Hi ,I am resrearching the McKay family . My g.g.g. grandfather was
Angus McKay married Cath McKay(ms also McKay).in Reay Caithness
on 28.9.1798. marraige details state Angus in Knockfin and Cath in
Dispoly (i think it`s hard to read).?would anyone know if these two
places are in Caithness. They had a son William McKay born about
1808 in Halkirk Caithness ,he married Mary Wilson in Fraserburgh
in 1839 ,he died in Fraserburgh in 1856. Mary died sometime
between 1849 and 1851.Can`t find a death for her but she was
dead by the 1851 census. Any info on this family or the place
names would be very much appretiated.
