Speakers for Television

I am hoping to get a Plasma television soon but it seems that the sound isn't as good as the LCD it will be replacing.

So I will need to add speakers but haven't a clue what to get as have never had any before so would much appreciate help please?

I don't want speakers all around the room so am I right in thinking it would be a 2.1 system I need?

Also I know this is a stupid question but if I add the speakers to the TV will it work on my PVR and DVD Player as well?:confused

Oh and they would need to be easy to install unless someone can recommend someone to do this for me?
