If your laptop has a Tvout/S-Video then all you need is a cable to go to the laptop to the scart socket of the TV.

S-Video to Phono cable

It will not work connecting it to the aerial input as you would need to use a converter for that.

Maplin is a good place to see the cable you are looking for but they are way overpriced. I recently bought a lot of the same cables, converters and plugs for my brother when building him a media centre all from eBay at a fraction of the cost (RCA to SCART converter was £1.99 + postage).

I'm sure I saw the same cable above in Tesco for around £7.00.

I know maplin are overpriced but their quality is alot better than the cheaper ones on ebay. I always use quality products over price anyday.

I provided Maplin so they can see the cable that the person is looking for.

You were pointing them to Maplins and I was pointing them to eBay. I was also pointing out, as you agreed, that Maplin is way overpriced. Remember you don't always get what you pay for.

No offence was intended.

Yes you can. Just get a normal S-Video cable that you will find pretty much anywhere. However you will also need audio inputs on your TV for the sound.

S-Video (and composite video) only carries ... video. If you want to connect your laptop to the TV and have it play as it would on your laptop (ie. with full sound etc.) you will need an audio output on your laptop and audio input on your TV. If you don't have audio input on your TV (it will be red and white sockets and will probably say Audio In), I'd use a SCART converter (like the one moonboots linked to). If you don't have audio output on your laptop, you will need a 3.5mm headphone jack to phono cable jacks (like this one (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250228280483&ssPageName=MERC_VI_ReBay_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=260153644899&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=CategoryProximity&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=its%3DS%252BI%252BSS) - I'm only showing this from eBay to give you an idea of what it looks like). Plug this into the headphone socket on your laptop and plug the other ends into the audio cables mentioned above and it will give you the sound from the laptop on your TV.
