You have to be 16. Road tax is £15 a year, and you get over 100 miles to the gallon. I can lend you the excellent Haynes manual if you pm me.

you have to do a cbt as well. cant remember how much it is, it will last you 2 years, so you either have to sit your test and theory in that 2 years or let it lapse and sit your cbt again.

Excuse my ignorance....what's a cbt? So road tax is £15...what about insurance, MOTs etc?

CBT stands for compulsary basic training, and will cost you in the region of £100. its a day training course, and teaches you everything you need to know to be safe to drive on the road.

16 to drive a 50cc scooter, and you have to do the cbt before you can drive it,the runnning costs are second to none for a scooter!!

it all depends on how much you'll be running it. with mine i can run about 70 miles on £5 of petrol, thats a full tank, on top of that you've got the tax, mot if your buying 2nd hand, and the occasional top up of oil.

No, but I am sure you could research it on the internet.

For practise, try strapping yourself to a hairdryer and standing on your roof in a gale.

CBT is £120. My son has a bike and would certainly vouch for it to be economical to run. Please...........do not make it a noisy one as someone is already sounding off in the streets of Wick.

His is 125cc so the insurance is much more than yours will be for a 50cc.

Hi i am sure if you go in to AMS Motorcycles they would be more than happy to answer any of your questions that you have as they sell scooters and i think we will all be on them if petrol prices continue to rise.
