seen my first robin here this morning, lived here for two years. why are they so few ... xx
They are indigenous to Spain but think the problem might be habitate as they love scrub,bushy hedgerows and the like so possibly more common in the northern regions of that country.

thanks for that as it explaines it ..wish i knew my birds must buy a book, as there are a few around i would like to know more about xx

I had read (can't for the life of me remember where) that robins in the UK are exceptional in there close association with humans and human habitation. Their continental cousins are much more skitterish and tend to be more country dwellers than the UK population.
This one was especially friendly last week in Cumbria.

super photo...i was thinking that the robins here were a bit shy...i put out some bird food ect for my little visitor but he was always too late the other birdies had it all ..but he's still coming round , thanx for the photo ...
