Pultneytown? Alexander Reid born 1797

Hi folks,

Alexander Reid / Margaret Sutherland

I am currently researching my ancestors in Wick and find that some of the information refers to Pultneytown- Francis Street and Mary Street to mention a couple of them.
Is Pultneytown an area within Wick or a village near to Wick.
I live in East Kilbride and do not know the Caithness area so I am hoping someone can clarify this for me.

Pulteneytown is part of wick lying to the south side of the river. Somewhere else on Caithness.org you should be able to get a map

Does the name Shantry mean anything to anyone - is it a farm or a piece of land? in the Wick area.
