The BANKS family of Mey - Parish of Canisbay.

Having recently joined the I forum, I thought it was to time to post my family of interest.

I am a descendant of William BANKS & Margaret BANKS, below. They had a son Francis b. 1850 who m. Elizabeth MOWAT in 1874 at Canisbay. Then in 1876 they emigrated to New Zealand on the ship "Waipa", arriving in Lyttelton in January 1877. Francis is my grt grt grandfather.

Below are the 2 oldest generations that I have.
If anybody has a connection to or an interest in this family I would appreciate hearing from you.

My husband links in with you via Donald Banks & Helen Swanson, my husband follows his ancestors via Donalds son Francis b 1801. His family still live in the Gills, Cannisbay area. Donald and Helen are as far as we have been able to go.

I have gone back one further generation than Donald BANKS & Helen SWANSON, but the information is not reliable. Needs more proof. I am a descendant of Donald and Helen's eldest child William and their youngest child, Franics who came out to New Zealand in 1877.
