We had been out in thick mist all day, then as we approached Scrabster in the late evening the mist opened up to give us this fantastic view. It was very quiet and very eerie:eek:

Still waiting for snow here too unfortunately - had a foot at the beginning of Nov then it warmed up and all melted off again. The kids are sad I can't take them sledging... last year was loads of snow and very cold, believe it is snowing in Anchorage this week - not even much here at Prudhoe Bay - can still see the tundra sticking thru...

Yes, isn't is magnificent! You feel you could just dive into the water.....well maybe not at this time of year!;)

These are not favourites because they are particularly stunning or anything, it's just that I managed to get them in the first place. Sand eels, Farr Bay rock pools.

A rub down with a towel, a bit of a blow dry, a cuddle and a can of tuna and he'll look great. [OK, everything I've just said is possibley, just a bit, maybe, environmentally unsound, including the tuna].

give me directions i want to go there now! lol
When you come into Golspie from the north, just inside the 30 mph zone, there is a place called Sutherland Stonework . Turn sharp right infront of its shop front. Beyond its fenced off yard there is a car park in the trees. You can park your car there. The walk which is signposted begins there and takes you to the fairy waterfall, just carry on to the the end of the path . It takes you to the Big Burn waterfall.
ps nice place for a picnic with benches and seats

This is a favorite of mine. The only Sutherland/Caithness connection is that I had to travel from here to get the photos.

This one of my current favorites, partly because of the colour, movement, action, Sutherland/Caithness weather, but because I heard it coming and just flipped my camera into 'Auto' and got what I think is a stunning photo. Well, I have no taste, one of my favorite colours being bright yellow, the other being lime green, preferably luminous lime green.

Hi, this is my first post to Caithness.org, so hello to you all.
I am Sassenach living on the north coast of Caithness, and it would be fair to describe me as obsessed with photography.
