Someone I am researching lived at Loisage, Halkirk Parish, in the 1851 Census.
Does anyone know where that would be. It may have been a farm name.

Two sinclairs in halkirk churchyard under that place name two slightly different spellings
Ben Sinclair died aged 80 Leosag 1878, niece Cath Fraser died aged 40 1876
John Sinclair leosag D 1861 aged 68 w ann bruce 1874 sons jas 1862 aged 14 don, elder fp church 1923 aged 79

Thanks very much. That helps a lot. I could not find it on either the current or 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps

We have a bit on our farm called Leosag. It was a croft. Its part of Lower Westerdale Farm now.
